A Beauty called Noorommavu

Nooromave Friends:

The people of Nooromave are wonderful! They are friendly, helpful and very humorous. You will never get bored with them. The best way to kill time in Anicadu is to spend time in the Kavala (Junction) either sitting near Kunjumonchayan's Bakery or Mid-Way Bakery or at the bus stop or at the Multi-purpose Volleyball ground. The atmosphere is very nice and you won't believe how many great people you would be meeting. There was a time when these Nooromave Boys were involved in so many different kinds of adventures. Now most of them are settled in different parts of the world either for work or higher studies. Well, here is a video I made of some of my Nooromave friends. The photos were taken by me and few other Nooromave Guys. I didn't have everyone's photos with me but once I get them I will put them in the next music video. The songs in the video are soundtracks from the movies Narasimham and Yodha- both starring Megastar Mohanlal, who has a huge fan base in Anicad!

Here's the video of the Nooromave Guys:

Some of my favourite chocolates: Snickers, Kinder, Quality Street, Hersheys Kisses, Kit Kat, Lion Bar, Galaxy, Twix, Swiss

Some of my favourite chocolates
Chocolates may be fattening but the pleasure you get from it is unimaginable! Most of my favourite chocolates are the ones I have eaten during my childhood days in Bahrain, Arabian Gulf. So yes, chocolates is one of the many things that form my Bahrain memories.  Now, I don't die for chocs as I used to earlier. May be for fun sake I may gorge on them while with my friends or in the company of kids. But my old die-hard craving for them has gone away. Few of them still remain in my heart though. I still love Kinder Surprise egg chocolate! Initially I used to love it for the toys that comes inside it, just like every other normal toy loving kid. But over the years the chocolate also has become a special pleasure for me (in addition to the toys which I still love)! I also enjoy Kinder Joy chocolate but not as much as the egg choc though.
Some of my FAVOURITES are:
1. Snickers
2. Kinder
3. Quality Street
4. Kit Kat
5. Dairy Milk
6. Nutella
7. Toblerone
8. Twix
9. Galaxy
10. Hersheys Kisses
11. Lion Bar
12. Bar One
13. Few other Swiss chocs (don't remember the names) and many more...

Drawing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Part 1-Trying this after almost 15 years... Michaelangelo Head

COWABUNGA DUDES!!!

I used to be a big fan of 'TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES'....Heh, in fact I still am fond of all my childhood cartoons, comics & toys! Maybe not as fond as before but atleast a little bit...Well, I used to draw the Ninja Turtles during my school days. I was very good at drawing them. Most of my drawings came out good while sitting in the classroom listening to my teachers but paying more attention to my drawings in my notebooks and textbooks, of course without being caught that is! I have also made few comics where I have included most of my favourite characters. Nothing is complete though. Anyway, I tried drawing Michaelangelo few days back but unfortunately I lost it completely. I couldnt draw the head, the arms, or the legs without any errors. I feared that I lost my talent. But after around 15 years, its not my talent that was lost, but the skill I had has gone rusty because I didnt bother to draw like I used to all these years back. I know I will lose it very soon though if I dont start drawing soon.

So here I am trying to get back to my drawing skills. I'm starting by drawing a Ninja Turtle's head, preferably Michaelangelo's! Here's the video...

Pet Kitten playing with Toy Car & Toy Bowling Ball- with No Meowing... :)

The kitten is having a playful time with my yellow color Toy Car. It tries to hold the car and bite it but is unsuccessful. Later it starts playing with a red color Toy Bowling Ball and chases it round and round the house. I captured this video few years back.

My friend paid Rs 1000 for today's Cricket match at Kochi- India vs Australia with no Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Ponting & Sreesanth

My friend's Facebook update read "After buying tickect for one day..the very evening i came to know...sachin,sehwag...zaheer nor bhajji is playing the series...now it's non stop rain..hmmmmm...hmmmmmmmmm"

Haha...I spoke to him and he said he had no words to describe his situation. India was scheduled to play against Australia in Kochi today. But the Indian team was without Sachin, Sehwag, Harbhajan and Zaheer Khan. The Aussie team was without Ricky Ponting as well. What a shame! This ODI series is between the two top teams in the world. It promised lots of action and drama. Unfortunately most of the fans dont get to see the stars they paid to see. Who knows- it could have been the last time we would have got to see Sachin and Ponting playing against each other. Heh, it could have also been the last time Sreesanth would be bowling to Ponting...

Of course it is an opportunity for the youngsters to claim their position in the team while ultimately, the whole nation will be supporting India to win irrespective of the stars' absence in the field. But just like some 'Sachin' loyal supporters and fans, my friend too didnt know that these Cricket stars were missing. He was really shocked when he came to know about it. And to add to his dismay, the match has been abandoned because of non-stop rain and by now I'm sure he must be eating his ticket. I havent asked him if he will get it refunded though. Heh heh....Yeah these kind of things happen to everyone. Even I have faced situations like these. Haha....But it's fun when you think about it later- heh, laughing at our own misery...hahaha......Well, the good news is that all those who bought the ticket also got a free blue colour Nike T-shirt along with it. So, I think he is happy because he can atleast keep the T-shirt as a memorable item. Chak de India!

Areas for improvement Indian Embassy Dublin Ireland

The buzz is increasing among Indians on how rude the Embassy Staff are towards applicants. Refer 'Complaint against Indian Embassy, Dublin' published in www.gopetition.com by www.marunadanmalayalee.com .Now, there are a few people who have not been treated in this rude manner. But most are victims. It is for this majority that a petition is being filed to the Ministers hoping for a miracle. Of course there are those who say that 'there is no use because afterall this is a complaint against Indian Government Officials being made to the INDIAN Government'. But that is only a statement and remains to be seen if there will be a solution or not.

Anyway, here are few areas where I think Indian Government should intervene and 'HELP' the Indian Citizens. Readers can add more areas whereby Indian Embassy Dublin, Ireland can improve:

1. People travel for hours in order to reach the embassy, so please ask the staff to pick up the calls so doubts can cleared over the phone.
2. Staff may be busy which is why they dont pick up calls, which is fine, so then hear the messages recorded in Voicemail and call back later.
3. Or atleast SMS asking to call at a free time.
4. Please reply to messages sent to the Indian Embassy website.
5. Train staff on how to use Email so service delays can be avoided.

Here are 2 links where Indians and foreigners have explained the bad treatment of the Indian Embassy staff in Dublin, Ireland. There are also good experiences which proves that there is some kind of hope in expecting an improvement in the Embassy:

Complaint against Indian Embassy Dublin Ireland Marunadan Malayalee & GoPetition Video

Complaint against Indian Embassy Dublin, Ireland
Okay, this was something that was expected and awaited but long overdue. For those who have faced all kinds of unresolved issues with the Indian Embassy staff, there is a petition being filed in the website 'http://www.marunadanmalayalee.com/'. The peition 'Complaint against Indian Embassy, Dublin, Ireland' has been published in the website 'http://www.gopetition.com/' by 'http://www.marunadanmalayalee.com/' from 14 September 2010 and will be sent to the 'Minister of External Affairs' and 'Minister of NRI, India'. GoPetition International is an online global petition hosting service provider, receiving petitions from over 75 countries. This service is for those who have been mentally and physically harrased by the Indian Embassy Staff in Dublin, Ireland.

GREAT INDIAN SERVANTS, HELPERS & AUTHORITIES- POLITE, PLEASING & PROFESSIONAL!!!

"Obviously the term 'Servants' doesnt mean that we see them either literally or practically as 'Servants', but instead, we see them as our 'Respected Authorities' sent by our great nation 'India' to 'HELP' us....And this 'HELP' is expected to be delivered in a polite, pleasing and professional manner..."

Now why would anyone complain against their own nation's representatives? It is understood that the Embassy staff are chosen as the 'Country's Public Servants' appointed to listen, serve and resolve all matters and issues involving not just the citizens, but also foreigners who directly or indirectly need to deal with India. Obviously the term 'Servants' doesnt mean that we see them either literally or practically as 'Servants', but instead, we see them as our 'Respected Authorities' sent by our great nation 'India' to 'HELP' us in getting our passport renewed, adding spouse name, changing old address to new address, applying for Indian Visa, and all other related services. And this 'HELP' is expected to be delivered in a polite, pleasing and professional manner, keeping the mind India's national integrity and well-being of it's citizens.

CRUEL, PATHETIC & UNBELIEVABLE ???

"...another had to resort to a 'Sit-down' (a person sitting down in protest and not leaving the place until he gets what he was entitled to..."

However, it is with great sorrow & regret that some of us Indians in Ireland, confess, that the situation India's Citizens face in the Indian Embassy in Dublin, Ireland is absolutely cruel, pathetic and unbelievable!!! Though applicants stoop to even their lowest back position in order to beg to get their query cleared or service delivered, the so called 'HELPERS' give more of the hardest time to everyone. Just imagine- while one person had to wait for almost 3 months to get this wife's name added in his passport, so he could complete further formalities and bring his wife to Ireland, another had to resort to a 'Sit-down' (a person protesting by not leaving the place until he gets what he was entitled to as per the rules but was denied thereof) so he could get his son's passport which was supposed to given to him within weeks. And this is just 2 examples out of thousands, where applicants are not even informed that their applications have been rejected for whatsoever reasons, and keep waiting in vain wondering what is happening with their requests.

"RESPECTED SIR, PLEASE PICK THE CALL ATLEAST ONCE!!!"

"...forget it dear Indians because you have just wasted precious money on stamps..."

In almost all cases, most of the undesired confrontations could have been avoided had the staff called back or sent an email or atleast an SMS. But this is the case study for everyone: You call up the Embassy- no one ever answers; You leave your message in their voicemail- you never get a call back; You send them a message in their website- you will feel you became insane and you are back in the Stone-age because your dream of receiveing an email from the Embassy in your Inbox or Spam never gets fulfilled; and You directly give them your Stamped Self-addressed Envelopes so they can deliver your documents as per the rules- forget it dear Indians because you have just wasted precious money on stamps!!!

INDIAN EMBASSY HOSPITALITY

"...This is also one reason why the Indian Embassy is being compared to the Irish Embassy. Almost everyone speaks proudly of the promptness, politeness and professionalism of the Irish!..."

Okay everyone can forgive all the delays and misinformations, but while they take us for a ride, it's the way they talk to everyone that irritates the most. "Rude, harsh & impolite- as though we are their enemies and they were waiting all this time to take revenge on us." Forget the impolite part, they dont even bother to look at your face when you approach them. And the moment they do see your face, they give you that frown- you know, the one that says "what the damn hell do you want coming here early morning and giving us trouble wasting our time...cant you just let us sit and enjoy our time here....Get away from our sight!!!". They dont even let you finish your entire question but ask you to leave even before the query is completed. Alright, no one is asking them to smile and greet the public, but atleast be polite. After all Indians our known for their 'Hospitality' isnt it? This is also one reason why the Indian Embassy is being compared to the Irish Embassy. Almost everyone speaks proudly of the promptness, politeness and professionalism of the Irish! Surely Indian Embassy can learn few important things from the Irish Embassy! There are some who still pray for an Irish to be appointed in the front office of Indian Embassy so that there will be atleast a little bit of relief. The reason is simple, this barbaric attitude has been running for a very long time and the ongoing damage is now way above the head to bear anymore.

MIRACLE- EXPECTING POSITIVE ACTION FROM MINISTERS

"...But that is only a statement and remains to be seen if there will be a solution or not..."

Now, having said this, there a few people who have not been treated in this rude manner and have experienced good service. But most are victims. It is for this majority that a petition is being filed to the Ministers hoping for a miracle. Of course there are those who say that 'there is no use because after all this is a complaint against Indian Government Officials being made to the INDIAN Government'. But that is only a statement and remains to be seen if there will be a solution or not. And there are still many more who are not willing to sign because they are worried of a backlash from the Indian Embassy. Some ask: "But do you really believe that just because one or two persons misuse their position the entire nation suffers from that shame?"

I tried to photograph a Butterfly and a Bee while pulling out the weeds in the garden- Photo and Video

I tried to photograph a Butterfly while pulling out the weeds in the garden
I was working in the garden yesterday trying to pull out the weeds which were supposed to be done months back. But as I was busy with internal home duties I didn't get time to weed out. Anyway, while I was working I saw a Butterfly land on a flower next to me. I noticed it for some time feeding on the nectar of that pink flower and then realised that I've still not been successful in photographing a Butterfly. Forget a Butterfly- I've just never been able to capture any flying being whether a bird or insect at a good close up range!

The Butterfly and the Bee
So I got my camera and tried to photograph the flying insect. I clicked few shots thinking that they would be good. At that time a Bee also landed right next to the Butterfly and I captured them together, again smiling to myself and thinking 'another good shot'. After some time they flew away and I checked the images on the system. The images came out okay, not so great or too good, but just okay I can say. I can see both the Flower and the Butterfly but the frame was not as good as I expected. Of course I still can't make out the exact differences between a Butterfly and a Moth though.

Still, I feel happy that I atleast got these frames. Because this is the first time I was so close to getting these shots. Whenever I tried earlier, the Butterflies used to fly away from my presence but now I got something. So I'm pretty sure that very soon I'll be getting some better shots of a Butterfly.

Life in a day 24 July 2010 Photographer who cares for Mother Earth

LIFE IN A DAY- 24 July 2010

This is my video which I have submitted for 'Life in a day'- the historic global experiment to create the world's largest user-generated feature film: a documentary, shot in a single day, on July 24, to be executive produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin Macdonald.

I have tried my best to spread a social message about caring for our planet by using my skills as a Photographer, where I pick up a fallen flower from the ground, set it up as a miniature plant, capture the image and add a slogan 'Save our Environment...Save Mother Earth!'. As a Photographer, I have used nature itself and a caption to share an important message to the world.

Hope you can suggest something extra for this video:

Funny BABY WRAPPING VIDEO- Wrapping the Baby :) Here I am learning how to wrap our Baby...

The newborn is to be wrapped up all cuddly and warm inside a blanket. The Nurses at the Hospital showed us how to do it. My wife picked it up. For me it was really confusing. But I tried and tried. Here is one video where I tried to wrap up Little Danny. I did it as good as I could. But the wrapping was all wrong. My wife, who's an expert now, was laughing on seeing how I was cautiously struggling to wrap him. Yet I was satisfied because as long as he is warm and safe inside the blanket, it didn't matter which way I did it at that time. The Baby is happy, I am happy :)

Here's the BABY WRAPPING VIDEO:

"But thank you Danny, I now have my full time job...!!!" Dad's Life in the Fast Lane!!!

Praise God!!!

3 weeks have passed since Daniel was born. As proud new parents we are excitedly behind every move and sound that the little one is making. And as a proud Dad I am constantly in the kitchen cooking food ensuring that my Wife gets her daily meals on time while she is resting with our Baby.

Deciding what to cook for breakfast, lunch and dinner is easy. Cooking it is'nt so easy. Atleast it was easier when I was a Bachelor as I just had to cook once a day and that too only if I was desperately hungry. Now, chopping, grinding and boiling is done almost 3 times a day. After cooking I have to wash the dishes. Then it's time to bathe little Danny, all the more important that I don't forget to switch on the water heater hours earlier.

Later I have to do the laundry- Parents clothes separate, Baby clothes separate in baby washing powder, dark clothes separate, white clothes separate and colour clothes separate. That's why laundry also takes days to complete. Once washed, they are out out in the sun to dry. By evening I take them all back inside.

In between all this I make sure that I clean up all the mess and tidy everything in the house. Not to forget vaccuming and running up and down the stairs each nappy change time in order to get a new nappy and throw away the dirty one. As I cook, raw materials get over. So it's time now to buy groceries. Timely service of providing health drinks or boiled cumin water for my wife to drink.

While my wife requires a break, I am the sole substitute for holding our baby, helping him burp which normally takes plenty of hours and also being the perfect clown so that his loud cries will stop- a role which I am proud to play. If I am destined, then I can get a chance to check my Emails, Orkut, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts. If I am privileged then I get extra few minutes to take photos, upload them, blog, browse, make phone calls, and sit down with my legs on the stool.

After a long day's hectic schedule, I try to get some sleep in the night. Why try?- Because our baby who was born in the afternoon loves to sleep all day and mostly cry in the night. So once again we take turns in holding our baby and I once more step into my Clown Shoes. Wow! No wonder I dream of sleep, sleep and more sleep during the entire day wondering if I can get a sound sleep atleast for one night.

But thank you Danny, I now have my full time job. I may be tired, but this is something I am proud of- my full time job....! Dad's Life in the Fast Lane!!!

Again this makes me think- how much our parents have sacrificed their time, energy and money in bringing us upto this level! I may still have my arguments with my Mom, but each time I think of this, it makes me even more proud of what our parents have done for us. Thank God for blessing us with family whom we still don't know how much precious they are worth in our lives!

"Praise God, It's a Baby Boy!!!"

"Praise God, It's a Baby Boy!!!"

"May the LORD make you increase, both you and your children." Psalm 115:14

Everything went well by God's grace! We welcomed Daniel into this world last month. It really is an experience which we are getting proud of. Some say it's the first time parent excitement. But whatever it is, we are loving this first time parent excitement! Since our family and relatives are back home, it is upto us to do all the house work and look after our Baby at the same time. It may be tiring but it is also fun and we are both learning new things each day. Holding a baby was'nt so easy for me the first time but I quickly got the hang of it. I thought I was on top over my wife in that case, but she showed she was boss when it came to nappy change. Oh man, really! I tried to do it myself but it was'nt so successful. So now I am an assistant for my Wife during nappy change. Bathing the baby is of course my area. She can't beat me in that field...haha....Anyway, it is a challenge now for both of us. We are praying that we become good parents. And it won't be long before our little Baby is all grown up. So we might as well enjoy our time in bringing him up. Thank God! :)

Dublin Festival St Patricks Day Parade 2010- Special Coverage Part 2

Here is Part 2 of the Special Coverage Video of the BIGGEST AND BEST CELEBRATION OF ST PATRICKS DAY IN THE WORLD!!!

It is also called St Paddys Day, Patricks Day and Paddys Day. Named after Saint Patrick (AD 387- 461), Patricks Day is celebrated every year on 17th March and is a public holiday. Families go out together, visit heritage and art centres, attend masses, participate in sports events and attend the St Patricks Parade and engage in other festival activities and competitions like the Treasure Hunt. It is also one of the most busiest and profitable days for pubs and hotels as celebrations include mass alcohol consumption with singing and dancing.

The festival showcases Ireland art, heritage and culture. The city was filled with people and I managed to capture the parade for a short time. A big APPRECIATION to all the Garda, ambulance, volunteers and other authorities who did a great job in efficiently and effectively managing the people and parade.

SACHIN TENDULKAR WORLD RECORD HITS FIRST ODI DOUBLE CENTURY – 200 NOT OUT VS SOUTH AFRICA VIDEO! Tributes from Famous Personalities!!!

SACHIN TENDULKAR WORLD RECORD HITS FIRST ODI DOUBLE CENTURY – 200 NOT OUT VS SOUTH AFRICA!!!

Cricket history opened a new chapter on 24 Feb 2010, at Gwalior, when Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar made the first double century in Cricket One Day International against South Africa, the team with the current best bowling attack in the world. I was not able to watch the match but I read the scoreboard in ESPN CRICINFO website sitting here in Ireland.

Congratulations from Cricketers and other Sportstars, Celebrities, Politicians on Sachin’s First ODI 200- Tributes from Famous Personalities!!!

1. "Come on Sachin my friend get your 200. World record to please! You deserve it… Nervous for my good friend Sachin everything crossed for you mate… Glad I'm not bowling to him today ha ha ha."
Shane Warne, Australia Cricket, tweets his excitement as Sachin nears the double-century

2. "He should aim for more. Maybe a Test innings of 450 or an ODI knock of 250. And then he himself wants to win next year's World Cup. There is a little boy in Tendulkar who wants to keep playing. That spirit keeps him going. It's absolutely incredible how he keeps going."
Sunil Gavaskar, India Cricket

3. "Nobody else does deserve to get there. It's only Sachin who deserves to scale that peak. 200 is a big score in one-day cricket. It's not easy to get there. It took him 20 long years to get there. He has come a long way. It's Sachin's greatness. Records are meant to be broken. I heard somebody [Charles Coventry] equalled my record sometime ago. But I did not know him. It's great that my friend from Mumbai Sachin broke it. I am very happy for him."

Saeed Anwar, Pakistan Cricket, who was the joint record holder with Charles Coventry of Zimbabwe (194 not out), for the highest ODI score of 194

4. "I thought the way he celebrated when he reached his 200 epitomised the man's persona. There was no running laps around the field, no aggressive gestures, nothing over-the-top. He did what he always does, raised both his arms, closed his eyes for a moment and quietly acknowledged that it had been done."

Anil Kumble, India Cricket

5. "What an innings it was. He had come close to achieving it twice. I always felt that Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya are capable of doing that."

Kumar Sangakkara, Sri Lanka Cricket Captain

6. "The unbeaten 200 that Sachin made at Gwalior is a benchmark for others to follow. Now, there will be lot of players who believe that they can also make 200 in an one-day international. We will wait and see."

VVS Laxman, India Cricket

7. "It was a brilliant innings and if you speak to Saeed Anwar, he would be so glad Tendulkar was the one to break his record. We all know how talented and how passionate he is about the game but it's incredible that at the age of 36 he is still going on, he plays the full 50 overs, runs hard and at no point during this knock did he look like he was going to throw his wicket away.”

Aamer Sohail, Saeed Anwar's good friend and opening partner, Pakistan Cricket

8. "Tendulkar is sincerity personified. He has made sacrifices in his life, there is a lot of dedication involved and he is very passionate about achieving something. He is like us but it's his mental toughness that sets him apart. He knows what exactly he is doing and he is strongly determined and focussed. He will bring more laurels to the country"

Kapil Dev, India Cricket

9. I was very proud to have held the record for a little while but there could be no better man in the history of the game to break through the 200 barrier. Zimbabwe versus Bangladesh.India versus South Africa. Not quite in the same bracket, are they?"

Charles Coventry, Zimbabwe Cricket, who was the joint record holder (194 not out) with Saeed Anwar of Pakistan (194), for the highest ODI score of 194

10. "It shows his mental and physical toughness. He's a player who does not throw away his wicket once he's set. He always places a huge price on his wicket."
Dilip Vengsarkar, India Cricket

11. "He is my favourite player. I had said that one day he would go on to break all batting records and now you see him scoring runs and runs."
Javed Miandad, Pakistan Cricket

12. "He has got so much class. His greatest strength is the longevity, to be able to be so successful at a young age and to still be doing the same thing 20 years on. We're blessed to still have such a great player playing this game."

Michael Clarke, Australia Cricket, didn't watch the innings, but plans to catch the highlights

13. "He has always respected the game and is dedicated to it. But I think this is not enough for him. He is hungry and I am sure he will keep creating new records. He is a dedicated student of the game and is still keen to learn things."
Ramakant Achrekar, Tendulkar's childhood coach

14. "Whatever record is seen to be impossible to achieve, he makes it possible. That's all I can say. It seems as he's getting older, he is becoming more and more mature. No wonder Sir Donald Bradman saw himself in the way Sachin bats."
Bapu Nadkarni, King of Parsimony

15. "Sachin - the greatest ever player ever - without any doubt… I salute Sachin... World's greatest sportsman. We can see him only rise. (He is an) inspiration to us all. He is the best."
IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi

First Wedding Anniversary on Valentine's Day 14th Feb- "God not only heals your wounds but also your relationships!

1st Wedding Anniversary

“He who finds a true wife finds what is good, a treasure, and receives favor from the LORD”
(Proverbs 18:22)

Heh...Praise God! It’s been a year since we got married and time certainly did fly very very fast. By God’s grace our life has been a blessed journey. Yup, it took time for us to adjust in many areas. And we know we still need more time to adjust in many more areas of our lives. We are still happy and at peace even though we know we may not be an ideal couple. And as long as we are trying to adjust with each other, take time to listen to each other, admit our faults, help each other, forgive each other, support, understand and love each other even more, and most importantly pray together, we realise we are the happiest couple! We also pray for wisdom and guidance and counsel of Holy Spirit, not just for living our daily lives, but also to be living stones and faithful stewards for the Lord’s service. God has once again favoured us because we are going to be proud parents of a blessed child very soon. Of course we love to have many more blessed children but the point is that God, Who is our Creator and Heavenly Father, is the Source for everyone’s blessings in this world. And the greatest gift He has ever given for anyone is salvation through His Son Jesus Christ by the blood that He shed for us on the Cross! Jesus Christ is risen and seated at the right hand of our Heavenly Father and advocates for us.

Husband and Wife... Prayer on Wedding Anniversary... :) Remember, God can heal, not only your wounds, but also your relationships!

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
(James 1:17)

14th February is celebrated as Valentine’s Day. Today we are not celebrating V Day but we pray and thank God that He has kept us safe, sound and healthy as Husband and Wife for the past one year. We are grateful that we are able to love each other, no matter what circumstance we are in, because the love which He has put in us in the name of Jesus, is increasingly manifesting in our lives every day. And so we celebrate our bond of love every day. And may He continue in showering His mercies and blessings upon our lives and teach us the way we should walk in Godly love, humility and cheerfulness. We also pray for everyone who are celebrating their Wedding Anniversaries that God blesses you and showers you with His love and mercy. May God bless you with love, peace, wisdom, healing, family, children, breakthroughs in your financial struggles, your areas of sin, ministries, in your area of studies, jobs and relationships. May your lives and minds be renewed by His love. We ask all this in Jesus’ name, amen. Remember, God can heal, not only your wounds, but also your relationships! So believe and pray this over your life and God will work wonders in your lives! God bless you :)

Our Stay at Bewleys Hotel Dublin Airport Swords- 5 minutes from Dublin Airport

Our Stay at Bewleys Hotel Dublin Airport

It was time for my brother to leave Ireland. He had to head off to UK for a few days visit and then return back to Dubai and resume work in his office. However, the weather was real bad and snow was falling pretty heavily in most areas that there was a doubt whether Dublin Airport would be closed due to bad weather. As we stay in the countryside, the beautiful town called Baltinglass, we had to start early in the morning if we had to report to the Airport and get on the morning flight to Heathrow Airport, London. And in this bad weather, it was a risk to travel on the morning of the flight day itself. So my bro wanted to go a day earlier to the Airport in order to be safe. Accordingly we booked into Bewleys Hotel, just 5 minutes from Dublin Airport and reached there in the evening.

Good Hotel Good Facilities

The stay was nice. There was good room service, good food in the hotel, and even free bus service to the Airport every 25 minutes. Inside the room, we have the usual color television, cable network, phone service, a press, a hair dryer, kettle with tea/coffee sachets, extra pillows, towels and a digital safe deposit locker. The view from the room was good as well. We were on the top most floor and there is this vast field with few horses surrounding one side of the Hotel. You can also see the Airport within a distance from our window. Outside, it became a familiar sight to see planes flying right above our heads.

Lobby, Cafe & ATM
Inside the Hotel, there is a large lobby with many sofas and seating capacity which can accomodate many guests at one time. You have an ATM machine (which wasn’t working that day, sad...), few snacks/drinks vending machines, coin change machines, a large food court separated from the lobby and a small snack bar inside the lobby. The only problem is that the Hotel is really far from the city and so there’s no access to any shops outside unless you get a taxi to take you to City Centre.
Free Bus Service to Dublin International Airport
Well, the next morning we got into the Airport Bus Coach and reached the Airport on time. The flight was delayed by over an hour due to bad weather but my bro gladly reached his destination. Who knows, what if we had decided to come from Baltinglass early in the morning and got stuck somewhere in the snow- thats what my bro was concerned about. However, he happily reached London and I happily returned back home in the 8:25 am J.J.Kavanagh Bus to Baltinglass. Overall, it was a good experience and there’s no doubt that I will surely be staying there again in future!

Removing Snow from the Car WHITE CHRISTMAS cleaning Snow Ice Frost

Removing Snow from the Car...

Whew! Finally the snow is melting away. What a time we had while it snowed. It was fun but at the same time it was also a problem for motorists and travellers because not only was the snow very thick but some secondary roads were ignored while primary roads were being gritted with salt. For the school kids, I guess it was holiday time for them as some schools had to be shut down. Anyway, our car was entirely covered in snow and we had to clear it up before driving. I removed the snow with an ice scraper. But you can also remove it with a window cleaner brush which has a flat and wide cleaning end. But after the snow was removed, there was still frost on the windscreen which would take some more time to clear up. So I sprayed de-icer and it became easier to scrape away the frost. While removing the snow, it’s better to start from one end and clean in one motion from front to back. This will ensure that the snow which is being removed from the front till the back will fall down and not get mixed with the rest of the snow on top of the car. Otherwise, if it gets mixed up, you end up taking more effort than what is required and it’s double effort and double time you lose. So start from one end and clear that side and then move to the next side. Enjoy cleaning up all the snow, ice and frost and enjoy your drive in the snow!
Here's the video of me removing all the snow from the car...

A few hours walk in Carlow Town

A few hours walk in Carlow Town

While my bro was with us for a few days, we made some plans but nothing worked out mainly because of the weather playing spoilsport- frost, snow, freezing temperatures and early sunsets. We did walk around Baltinglass Town and Baltinglass Community Park but wasn’t able to go any further though. The roads in Baltinglass Town were yet to be gritted with salt and mud. One day it was a bit sunny and we visited Carlow. Our first stop was Tesco Supermarket at Fairgreen Shopping Centre. We had a look around and bought batteries for my bro’s cam. Then we shopped at a few clothing shops. We went to a gift shop and got some gifts for his friends. There wasn’t much time to spend in Heatons. So after that we had a look at Halfords, Woodies and Byrnes. Took few snaps near Pizza Hut and KFC as well. We then visited Carlow Shopping Centre inside the town. There were statues of Santa Claus, Snow White, the Three Wise Men and some deers. We took snaps standing next to them. Finally we went back to KFC, bought some fast food and returned home.

ATTACKED BY SNOWBALLS IN PARKMORE BALTINGLASS, IRELAND :) SNOWFUN- Enjoying and Throwing Snowballs...

ATTACKED BY SNOWBALLS IN PARKMORE BALTINGLASS, IRELAND :) SNOWFUN- Enjoying and Throwing Snowballs...

SNOWBALLING NEIGHBOURS!

Ha!Ha!....It was fun....We literally got snowballed by our neighbours’ kids. There were laughter, shouts and screams all over the place. Our next door neighbour who is a bit elderly, but fun-loving, was the main person who started the attack on those kids. While we were outside trying to get some shots of the wonderful snow, the attack took place- without a warning! It all happened so quickly. Heh, it was real fun though. My wife was hiding by the side of the car, so she was safe. My mom was scared to come out in the snow as this is her first time in the snow too. So she was happily watching and smiling during the whole show. There were snowballs thrown everywhere- on my head, my face, our car, our neighbour and her daughter, on the doors and walls. You had no chance to escape. You really could not stop it or save yourself because they were coming at you one after another and that too from all sides. Dressed up with multi layers of clothes, I was wondering what was happening there at everything happening so fast.

CUTE AND WONDERFUL KIDS OF PARKMORE, BALTINGLASS :)

"There was one particular kid who was cleverly hiding behind the gate wall and snowballing everyone, you could only see his head popping out, as though he was recruited for some kind of world war and his mission was to engage himself in ensuring maximum damage to the enemy by strategically throwing grenades without being seen"

Heh, the cute and wonderful kids of Parkmore, Baltinglass :) There was one particular kid who was cleverly hiding behind the gate wall and snowballing everyone, you could only see his head popping out, as though he was recruited for some kind of world war and his mission was to engage himself in ensuring maximum damage to the enemy by strategically throwing grenades without being seen. Sheesh man, this was too good! Finally I thought I will run right up to him at the wall and throw a huge ball of snow directly at him. Ha! Ha! Unfortunately I slipped near the gate and had a great Humpty Dumpty Fall! But thankfully it was on the thick layer of snow, so you could say it was just like falling on a soft cotton mattress. Heh! Well, the fall actually reminded me that no matter how big we grow up, we will always be outsmarted by kids when we enter their territory while they’re on a roll....heh heh....I like that. Those smart snowballing kids :)

NO SNOWMAN YET...

Also, during the attack, our neighbour was also cleaning up their entrance door step brushing away all those snow, after each snowball was thrown at them. Ha! Ha! that was a real funny sight because after some time she gave it up. Each time she was snowballed, she would clean it up. But again someone would snowball her. Real funny sight. Well, in the end the snowball attack stopped and the kids went over to the, now white, green lawn by the roadside opposite to our houses and began to make a snowman. They rolled up a huge ball of snow but suddenly decided against it and ran off. I think they found a another place with thicker snow and probably went there to make their snowman. Well, this really was a great time for all of us. A happy moment when we got attacked by snowballs from our neighbours’ kids...

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!... When our family visited us...FAMILY TIME!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!... When our family visited us...FAMILY TIME!

Safe journey from Trivandrum to Abu Dhabi, Dublin by Etihad Airways
By God’s grace my mom n eldest brother reached Ireland safely and on time. They had a safe and comfortable journey in Etihad Airways, from Trivandrum to Abu Dhabi and from Abu Dhabi to Dublin. The last week of December was the start of severe snowfall and that was one concern we had regarding the journey, but everything was sound and calm. Well, it was great to have them over here. My second bro and family could’t make it because of leave restrictions. Our friends in Bray, GDM, drove us from the Airport to their house where we had relaxed and ate some good food which they prepared for us. And they then dropped us at Blessington where our car was parked so we could return back to Baltinglass.
New Year with Mom n Eldest Bro...
So we stepped into the New Year 2010. Praise God! We took snaps standing next to the Christmas Tree and for lunch we had Chicken Biriyani, the popular and special Indian Rice and Chicken dish prepared with spices. We could not go out much because of the heavy snowfall and frost. Also, it would get real dark and even colder by 5pm. I and my bro visited Carlow once and apart from that all we could do was just drive around the town. Yes, the timing was bad but atleast they were happy to be here as we could spend some time together and they also got an opportunity to see how beautiful Ireland looks like even though it was winter time. While my mom will be with us for 2 months, my bro only had a few days leave and is back in Dubai now. Don’t think his employer will give him leave for another 6 months now. Anyway, it was a nice time and we are looking forward to meet up with everyone together once again. A Happy New Year 2010!

DREADED DENTIST DRILL to be replaced by futuristic space-age device “PLASMA JET”!!!

DREADED DENTIST DRILL to be replaced by futuristic space-age device “PLASMA JET”!!!

My first visit to the Dentist for cleaning and filling up – HE USED THE DRILL!!!

"I felt my veins vibrating from head to foot. Or I can even say from my toe nails to my skull and brain!!!"

I still remember my visit to the Dentist back in Cochin. A small dental clinic in Vytilla Junction, Ernakulam, it had a Dental Surgeon and a junior lady Dentist. There was some cleaning up and filling to do. And the sound of that drill still lingers in me. I felt my veins vibrating from head to foot. Or I can even say from my toe nails to my skull and brain!!! Such was the impact! Many children and adults avoid Dental Clinics because of their phobia on drills. They fear drilling!

Got my Wisdom Tooth pulled out!

I also remember when one of my wisdom tooth had to be pulled out. This time it was in Plamoodu, Trivandrum. But here, the impact was a lot better. The Doctor was really cool and he made me feel really comfortable. A true professional. He did use all the required tools in order to remove my tooth, but I didn’t feel any pain because he applied that gel and injected my mouth before the surgery. Yes, the dental works had to be done for the good of my teeth. So I can’t really say that they were bad. It’s the initial cleaning and drilling experience that I still can’t forget. Of course, I’m happy I got them done though.

Traditional Dentist’s Drill being replaced by ‘Plasma Jet’...

Good news for those of you who are still scared of the Dentist Drilling Machine and totally hates that drill! In few years time there will be a Plasma Jet, a pain-free device which will eradicate tooth decay even without any fillings. While drills are used to drill holes into your tooth, the Plasma Jet will be used to fire a plasma beam of oxygen atoms at low-temperature, which are electrically-charged, into your cavities at the dentine- the fibrous tooth structure below the enamel, thus reducing the bacteria which causes decay!

Plasma Jet Overcomes Dental Bugs!!

Dr Stefan Rupf, a Main Researcher from Saarland University in Homburg, said:
"The low temperature means they can kill the microbes while preserving the tooth. The dental pulp at the centre of the tooth, underneath the dentine, is linked to the blood supply and nerves and heat damage to it must be avoided at all costs."
German researchers have tested the use of Plasma Jet and were found to be successful on Streptococcus Mutans and Lactobacillus Casei which are common dental bugs. These bugs cause teeth enamel erosion and cavity causing dentines by leaving films on the teeth surface. So now you can all happily visit the Dentist without any Drill Phobia! :)

“I thank God for Another Blessed Year!!!” :)

“I thank God for another beautiful year!!!” :)

I Praise God for another new year!!! :)

Happy New Year! I thank God for another beautiful year that has passed by and for an even more beautiful year 2010! Yes, I have gone through my sad and bad moments but that doesn’t mean 2009 was all that bad. I also had my moments of joy and victories. But whether it was good or bad, I still thank God for all His Mercies and Blessings that He has showered upon everyone in this world. Jesus Christ as Personal Saviour & Living Redeemer, and Holy Spirit as Wonderful Counsellor are always the strongest of all Companions! I Praise God for another new year!!! :)

My Heavenly Father, My Pillar of Support and Comfort!!! :)

"But I thank God again for helping me to smile even when I didn’t win in anything and smile more gladly even whenever I lost something!!!"

From all the incidents that I went through which were not favourable for me, I once again understood that God has taught me some very very valuable lessons from them all. I lost in many areas, I cried when I was in pain, I didn’t have any earthly or heavenly help at certain times, I depended on people who I thought were appointed for guiding and advising but they never attempted to lend a helping hand or ear, and of course I smiled whenever I won. But I thank God again for helping me to smile even when I didn’t win in anything and smile more gladly even whenever I lost something. I thank God so much for giving me strength to endure during my painful moments and I love Him for being my Pillar of Support and Comfort while in my tears! And I will always cherish my Heavenly Father’s Blessings at all times!

Jesus speaks to you by the Power of the Holy Spirit!!!

"And you’ll surely know when He speaks to you, especially when He uses that small whisper inside you, the voice which you know is warm, still, quiet, peaceful and stands out on it’s own above all those doubtful thoughts inside you!"

When Jesus speaks to you, it is by the Power of the Holy Spirit that His Word is manifested in your life! And you’ll surely know when He speaks to you, especially when He uses that small whisper inside you, the voice which you know is warm, still, quiet, peaceful and stands out on it’s own above all those doubtful thoughts inside you! I still remember the Word that touched me way back in 2001. I always thank God for blessing me with His Anointed Servant. But it is Jesus, the Word Who is more important than Pastor or any Preacher of the Gospel- The Good News! The Pastor must have preached, but it was the Holy Spirit conveying to me what my Heavenly Father wanted to say to me. Pastor is only a Servant of God whom God anoints and uses to declare His Word to the people of the world either by word or by signs and wonders. It is not Pastor who saves or changes someone. It is the Love of Jesus Christ by His sacrificial blood on the Cross that has opened the way for Salvation to enter in our lives! However, we should also be humble and obedient to God by respecting, loving, helping and praying for all the Servants of God especially those whom God directly uses to touch us in our daily lives!

The Word that I still remember because God spoke to me to my heart!!

“ It is not your circumstances that determine your relationship with God, but it is your heart that determines your relationship with God!!!”
One part of the powerful Word that I still remember is this:

“...you ask your dad to buy you a bike and he says ‘No!’.... will you hate your dad because he refused to buy you a bike? Will you love your father only if he buys you a bike? Whether he buys you a bike or not, he is still your dad and you should always love your dad.....It is the same with your Heavenly Father....will you love God only if he gives you what you pray for? Whether He answers your prayers or not, you should always love God.....Just bcos you asked for something and He doesn’t give it to you, it doesn’t mean He doesn’t love you...it’s bcos He’s got something better for you....Will you love your Husband only if he gifts you a diamond ring everyday???.....Even if you feel you haven’t received any blessings you should still love God, because He is your God and your love for Him should not be based on blessings, it should come directly from your heart!.... It is not your circumstances that determine your relationship with God, but it is your heart that determines your relationship with God!!!...

“HAVE A BLESSED NEW YEAR!!!” :)

"You can also pray quietly in your heart whether you’re alone in your room, or in your office, while among your friends, while having your food and in fact you can pray at all times whether or not you have your eyes closed and hands joined!"

I pray that God blesses you and your family. May He bless your health, career, ministry, and every other area of your lives! Remember to pray before you do anything. To pray doesn’t mean you can only pray if you are in a loud prayer meeting, or alone in a room where you cry out loud, or seated in a church, or kneeling before an image or crying before a lighted candle. You can also pray quietly in your heart whether you’re alone in your room, or in your office, while among your friends, while having your food and in fact you can pray at all times whether or not you have your eyes closed and hands joined. God will hear your prayer in any circumstance as long as it’s from your heart! So be happy, be cheerful in all situations, ask God to bless your plans and to guide you in all your ways. Keep your heart opened for the Lord and He will save you and bless you. It’s His Word! You can trust Him because He alone is Trustworthy...Have a Blessed New Year!! God bless you all!

Here is God’s promise for Your Life this New Year:

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths."

(Proverbs 3:5-6; Bible, New King James Version)

“Snow in Baltinglass, Ireland!” “It’s snowing in New Houses, Parkmore...!” :)

“Snow in Baltinglass, Ireland!” “It’s snowing in New Houses, Parkmore...!” :)

Beautiful Baltinglass!!! It’s white all over... the Baltinglass Hills... :)

"So you can imagine what it is like when the whole place is covered in snow. Of course too much snow does have it’s toil on us- we can’t walk without slipping, cant drive without skidding and can’t get out of our home due to Snow Block!"

Now I have seen what snow looks like! Beautiful Snow! When I came to Ireland, I was already mesmerized by the beauty of Ireland. Ireland’s Natural Beauty- especially County Wicklow where I stay in Baltinglass, is simply fascinating! And my first meeting with Ireland was in the Summer. So you can imagine what it is like when the whole place is covered in snow. Of course too much snow does have it’s toil on us- we can’t walk without slipping, cant drive without skidding and can’t get out of our home due to Snow Block! But when you keep all that aside, stand in front of your window and stare out to the Baltinglass Hills and nearby mountains, you just can’t stop admiring how beautifully white the entire place has become in just a matter of a few hours! The hills, trees and roads...it’s everywhere. It’s white all over! Beautiful Snow Beautiful Baltinglass!!!

Beautiful Baltinglass and Glorious Glendalough!!!

And if Beautiful Baltinglass still looks good despite being under all this snow, then I can imagine how much of the beautiful scenic views I am missing of Glorious Glendalough at this moment which must be under a huge paste of snow by now!!!

Our family friends invited me to join them for a trip to a bit faraway place, Glendalough, back in the summer of 2009 just few weeks after I arrived in Ireland. It was my first vist to Glendalough as well. It was wonderful! I couldn't stop clicking snaps in my camera from the time I reached there. A real good memory. And though Baltinglass isn’t as big as Glendalough, the beauty is the same! My admiration for Baltinglass is almost the same as how I’d be admired by Glorious Glendalough! And if Beautiful Baltinglass still looks good despite being under all this snow, then I can imagine how much of the beautiful scenic views I am missing of Glorious Glendalough at this moment which must be under a huge paste of snow by now!!!

Dublin Airport to Castledermot J.J. Kavanagh Bus journey

On my journey from Dublin Airport to Castledermot, I got the chance to travel in the underground Dublin Port Tunnel. I was in the 8:25 am J.J. Kavanagh bus and captured the short tunnel episode in my cam. It was nice to be under the road for a change. There was a cute kid sitting in the seat in front of me busy playing on his portable computer game. You can see the reflection on the window of the side seat where I sat.

“This is Castledermot!”

The bus picked me and dropped me on time. I reached Castledermot at 10:25am just like what is shown on their website time table in the internet. Excellent Driver! When I boarded the bus I asked him to let me know when it’s Castledermot stop as I wasnt very familiar with the place. We only come to Castledermot to get onto the bus to Dublin as it’s not in Baltinglass at that time. Anyway, I was still relaxing and staring outside at the snow when the driver slowly got out from his seat, smiled and politely reminded me in front of all the other passengers that ‘This is Castledermot’. I smiled, thanked him and got out.

The Dublin Port Tunnel (Irish: Tollán Calafoirt Bhaile Átha Cliath)

One half of the Twin Underground Dual Carriageway Tunnels, this Underground Tunnel is the Dublin Port Tunnel (Tollán Calafoirt Bhaile Átha Cliath in Irish), constructed in Dublin, Ireland. The two-lane dual carriageway links the M50 Motorway Dublin Port, (located east of central Dublin), and the M1 Motorway (Dublin to Belfast) which is near to Dublin Airport. The tunnels measure 4.5 km (2.8 miles) in length. An important safety aspect is that there are Pedestrian Crossing Passages every 250 metres and Vehicle Crossing Passages every 1000 metres linked to the tunnels which are major exit routes in times of emergency. Few Facts you didn’t know about the Dublin Port Tunnel (DPT):

3. Joint winner (with the recovery operation project for the World Trade Centre) in December 2003 of the British Geotechnical Association's international Fleming Award (BGA Fleming Award) for excellence in geotechnical design and construction.

4. The award was for the innovative 'observational approach' used in optimising the design of the tunnel launch shaft in Whitehall, and for the soil-nailed open-cut section of the works accommodating the northern cut and cover tunnel.
