My first experience with SNOW- First day of snow in Baltinglass (Bealach Conglais) December 2009

Mr. Winter, the Uninvited Guest and his right-hand man Mr. Snow!

Our Uninvited Guest, Mr. Winter Frost, has now brought with him his trustworthy friend, Mr. Snow! Heh, I spoke earlier in the month of October, of how Autumn had come and made me see how special an Autumn Leaf is with it's red, yellow and brown colours. And I also mentioned that December would bring along our Uninvited Friend, Mr. Winter.

"It's Snow!"

Well, today morning I woke up late as usual (as I'm still unemployed despite my constant search for a job in a company which will also issue a Work Permit!), thanked God for His Grace and Mercy for another new morning of my life, went to the window and opened the curtain...and what do I see?.... It's all white everywhere......for a moment I froze......I couldn't even think of anything because I just didn't even know what to think! I'm standing in my room staring at the window of my house in Baltinglass and I yelled out to my wife...she came wondering what was wrong and that was when she too saw it and said, "It's snow!"

First Snow in Baltinglass, Ireland

So this is my first experience of Snow in my life!!...Amazing!!....It definitely is a new experience for me. We live in New Houses, Parkmore and from the window in the front of our house, we can see the
Community Park, Baltinglass and the mountain view beyond it. Everything was covered in snow. All the houses, the roads, rooftops, trees, cars had snow on top of it. From our Kitchen window, we can see the National School (Scoil Naomh Iosaf) and the mountains beyond it. It was a beautiful sight! All covered with snow. Everything is white as though a large white blanket is spread across Baltinglass!

Jesus is the Essence of the Christmas Season!

Though a Snowman dances in the snow and Santa delivers toys on Christmas (25th December), hope that the Message of Jesus is also spread because, ultimately, Jesus is the Essence of Christmas as those who traditionally celebrate Christmas, do it because Christmas Day is the Birth of Jesus! That is why everyone celebrates the Season of Christmas as the Season of Love, Happiness and Giving! Believers celebrate Jesus every day of their lives because they are happy that God loves everyone which is why He gave Jesus to all the people of the world!

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

White Christmas! Houses in Parkmore, Baltinglass are beautifully decorated with all kinds of Xmas Decorations!

Maybe today being the
first day of Snow in Baltinglass, no one would have been prepared to build any Snowman as yet. While some of the houses in our area are beautifully decorated with all kinds of Christmas lights, Stars, Christmas Trees, Santas and Bridge Candles, there is one particular house that stands apart. Their front porch and roof is completely covered with multi coloured Christmas lights blinking continuously and they also have a Santa seated on his sledge of Reindeers. And yes, they do have a Smiling Snowman as well. It won't be too long before you get to see all the little cute and loving children of New Houses, Parkmore come out and build their snowmen. It's really going to be a great sight to enjoy from now on! White Christmas!!!

First Day of Snow promises even more...

Well, after some time, the sun came out and by evening the snow disappeared. Of course now we have to be careful when we step outside as there will be
Black Ice everywhere. The weather forecast in RTE News forecasted that snow would start falling by Saturday night, but it came earlier. It will be snowing even more in the days to come and we are planning to go out soon and take snaps of the wonderful snow.
