About Kadhal Desam
Kadhal Desam was Abbas' debut film and Tabu's first Tamil movie. Some important roles were played by the legends S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Vadivelu, Chinni Jayanth and Srividya. K. V. Anand was the cinematographer for the movie. An interesting fact to note is that Abbas' voice was dubbed by Superstar Vikram while dubbing artist Sekar dubbed the voice for Vineeth. The successful Telegu Director, A. Karunakaran, started his career as Clap Assistant with this film. A. R. Rahman won his fifth consecutive Filmfare Award for Best Music Director (Tamil). Other singers who sang in the movie are S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, O. S. Arun, Rafee for 'Ennai Kaanavillaiye', A. R. Rahman, Storms , Noel James, Anupama for 'Hello Doctor', A. R. Rahman, Hariharan, Aslam Mustafa for 'Kalluri Salai', Mano, Unni Krishnan, Dominique Cerejo for 'Thendrale', Unni Krishnan for 'O Vennila'.
