Irish Poem Duilleoga Deasa Deasa (The Teachers Poem ‘Nice Nice Leaves’) Gaeilge
The Irish language poem Duilleoga Deasa
Deasa is a teachers’ poem for school children. It translates to English as
‘Nice Nice Leaves’. The teachers teach this poem to kids in school when autumn
begins. The children are also taken outside the classroom and asked to walk
outdoors within the school campus and explore and look at the trees and plants
and see how the leaves are falling down. They are also given the task to pick
up and gather leaves from the ground which has different colours like brown,
yellow, orange and so on. This helps them to clearly feel and understand how the leaves
change their colours and fall from the trees during autumn just before the
winter season.
