On 8 June 2016,
there was a friendly Social Team match between Baltinglass Cricket Team and
Bagenalstown Cricket team. Bagenalstown team won by 23 runs. It was
a great experience and a fun time for everyone. A great sunny day and a good social friendly
match with delicious snacks treats served by the hosts after the match. Will
remember this for a long time.
Bagenalstown Cricket Team
Founded in 1843, Bagenalstown Cricket Club is
the second oldest club in Ireland. With a rich heritage, the club easily boasts
of multiple division teams and a youth team. The club has produced talented and
dedicated players and this is evident from the fact that numerous teams across
the country have always regarded Bagenalstown Cricket Club as their toughest
opponent. To play against them is an achievement and a moment of pride for
every cricket playing athlete in the country.

Social Team
With a blend of professional and committed
senior cricketers and promising youth, the Social Team also helps by giving
opportunity to Social Teams of other counties and achieving their cricket
playing interests. A fun day for all.

The very small crowd of cricket lovers being
scattered in and around Baltinglass were brought together by the dynamic, socially
active and sport loving Rector. A few experts and few rookies make up this
special team of jubilant part-timers who enjoy every moment they get to spend
on the field. This enthusiastic and vibrant ladies, gents and youth in the
Baltinglass Team has definitely proved they are capable of not only performing
to their best level but also in training and coaching the next generation
cricket lovers of Baltinglass. A full-fledged Baltinglass team with reserves
and a Cricket ground are the two big dreams that the current team hopes to see
fulfilled in the near future.
