My Bahrain Memories- Indian School Magazine Pushpanjali 93

My Bahrain Memories- Indian School Bahrain Magazine Pushpanjali 93 Photos

When I went back home to Kerala the last time, I found two Indian School Magazines- years 1989-90 and 1993.  I also found a 1994 Newsletter.

I just saw the cover pages and I got tempted to open them and flip through each page.  But with each flip my life went back to those glorious days of my life. For some time I was back in my school, running around the entire campus, playing with my friends, creating maximum havoc until the teacher came to the class, throwing chalks at each other, discussing our favourite cartoons, serials, movies and pop songs... well the list goes on.  So I quickly snapped away from my trance because my present man was constantly reminding me to come back to the present real life.  And so my sad return to reality became a reality! And this trance happens all the time, whenever I see anything about Bahrain, about school or whenever I have free time and have the luxury to travel all the way back to my Indain School years.

Anyway, this time I didnt have enough time so I decided to capture some of the pages of the book in my camera.  And I just kept on clicking page after page.

Well, here are some of the pages I clicked and I am sure you ex ISB students will also be tranced back to your most memorable school life years. So go ahead...

  1. HEY,
I AM ANITIA SAM STUDYING IN THE INDIAN SCHOOL,BAHRAIN.I AM STUDYING IN GRADE 12{2016-2017}.
WHEN SCHOOL LIFE SEEMED TO BE A BIT HARD I JUST TRIED TO SEE IT FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF MANY GREAT PERSONALITIES AFTER CONSTANTLY READING IN MANY OF THEIR BIOGRAPHIES ABOUT THEIR SCHOOL LIFE DURING THE 90'S.I UNDERSTOOD THAT IT WAS A GREAT SCHOOL FOR MANY 90'S STUDENTS AS AT THAT TIME A CHILD IS SOMEONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN SPORTS,ARTS,STUDIES.THE LOVE AND CARE OF AN INDIAN MOTHER ALSO MADE THEM A BETTER CITIZEN FOR THEIR COUNTRY.WHEN YOU SHOW ME ALL YOUR PHOTOS I JUST CANT BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING WHAT I WOULD ACTUALLY DEFINE AS A REAL SCHOOL LIFE ACTUALLY EXISTED NOT TOO LONG AGO.IT IS A GREAT THING THAT YOU HAVE YOUR HAND ON THAT MAGAZINE.THE REASON THAT I AM GIVING YOU A BIG "POST A COMMENT" IS TO LET YOU KNOE THAT THAT SUCH A TIME NO LONGER EXISTS.TODAY PEOPLEMERELY JUST DONT CARE FOR THIS SO CALLED BIBLE THICK SCHOOL MAGAZINES PUBLISHED IN OUR SCHOOL,EXCEPT THAT IT IS NO LONGER THAT THICK.PEOPLE DONT CARE FOR SCHOOL LIFE ANY MORE.LIKE A TOURIST THEY{STUDENTS} COME,WATCH,THROW WASTES,SPEAK FOUL,GIVE AWAY SOME ROYAL ABUSE AND BOARD THE BUS.GIRLS NO LONGER GO FOR ATHLETICS,BOYS NO LONGER DRESS OR THINK SMART.GIRLS DONT PLAY ANYMORE AS THEY DONT FEEL COMFORTABLE ABOUT SHORTS OR GOING OUT OF CLASS.BOYS NO LONGER READ 'REAL BOOKS'.PARENTS NO LONGER BOTHER TO TEAH THEM ABOUT THEIR INDIAN CULTURES TRADITIONS OR EVEN HISTORY.IT ONCE TOOK 3MINS FOR A BOY IN MY CLASS LAST YEAR TO ANSWER WHO IS THE PRESENT PRESIDENT OF INDEPENDENT INDIA.THAT WAS WHEN I WAS TAKEN ABACK AND WENT BACK HOME DETERMINED TO FIND OUT WHAT HAS CHANGED TO OUR SCHOOL,OUR PEOPLE,AND WHAT I COULD UNDERSTAND FROM IT.WEEKS AND WEEKS OF CURIOUS READING LED ME TO ONE SINGLE CONCLUSION WHICH TOOK ME LIKE A SHOCK WAVE. AT PRESENT CHILDREN NO LONGER PLAY FREELY IN SCHOOL GROUNDS,LESS TIME FOR EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES,NO PHYSICAL EXERCISE,IF AT ALL THEY TOOK PART IN SOMETHING IT WOULD BE NOTHING COMPARED TO THE WIDE HORIZON OF ACTIVITIES THAT THE 90'S KIDS TOOK PART.RIGHT NOW WE HAVE THIS CONCEPT IN SCHOOL AMONG MANY THAT IS "MORE ACTIVITIES=LESS CLASS+LOW MARKS." I FEEL THAT IT IS A MYTH.BUT FALLS INTO ONLY DEAF EARS.WHEN I OBSERVE ALL THESE I JUST WONDER EVEN IF THEY THE NAMES OF THE MARTYRS OF THE MUMBAI 26/11.EVERY DAY SOMEONE BRAVE DECIDES AND GOES UP THERE TO SECURE OUR COUNTRY,LOSES THEIR LIFE IN THE PROCESS.THEN ONWARDS WHEN EVER THEIR NAMES ARE MENTIONED THEIR LOVED ONES GO SAD.NOT AFFECTED BY HIS OR DEATH BUT AFTER GOING THROUGH THEIR SCHOOL LIFE,THEIR TROPHIES AND PICTURES WHEN THEY WERE MERELY BOYS.BACK DURING 90'S MANY YOUNGSTERS LIVED A LIFE WORTH LIVING.THERE WOULD ALWAYS BE A RAKSHA KAVACH AROUND THEIR EXTRAORDINARILY ORDINARY LIVES. NO ONE BOTHERS ABOUT BEING CITIZENS OF TOMORROW.I DON'T KNOW WHAT WOULD COME OF THEIR LIFE LESS FULFILLED.BUT PEOPLE LIKE YOU WOULD ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING TO TREASURE THROUGH THOSE PHOTOS AND THAT IS NOTHING BUT EXPERIENCE.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR PATIENCE TO READ IT ALL.JAI HIND.
