Beginning Fall, students learn this poem in school. It is an Irish poem titled ‘Duilleoga
Deasa Deasa’ which means Beautiful or Nice Leaves. It is an Irish language teachers’ poem for school children. When Autumn begins, the teachers take the students outside into the school yard and tell them to walk around and look at the trees and plants. They are asked to observe the colour of the leaves and pick up the leaves that fall down. The teacher shows them how the leaves have different colours of yellow, brown, orange etc and explains to them that before the winter season approaches this is how the leaves change colours and fall down from trees in Autumn. The different colour shades make the trees look beautiful and so many people take photographs by standing in front of the trees or by holding the leaves in their hand.
